Cult Classic Restored into the Ultimate City Bike
A cult classic elevated chainstay bicycle from the pioneering days of mountain biking. I found this bike cracked, scratched, and for pennies on Craigslist. My partner and I decided to save it from the scrap yard and give it new life as a modern city cargo bike. The frame was stripped down, and all the cracked welds/tubing were repaired. I repainted the frame and Crust cargo fork by hand, with a color palette inspired by its Alien name and the bright colors associated with early mountain bicycles. Thoughtful down to the last detail on the build, I incorporated elegant dynamo lighting, hand-built tubeless wheels, a modern generation of its original Shimano XT drivetrain, and a premium cockpit with titanium bars, Paul levers, and signature tassels. The ultimate grocery getter sure to grab attention around town.
